Volunteers are the topic of our latest YouTube video. What are volunteers and why do you want them? Simply put, a volunteer is something that pops up in your garden that you didn't deliberately plant.
This week we travel to Compton, CA, where Kathleen Blakistone runs Moonwater Farm. Livestock, a garden, a pond, a food forest, and teaching spaces make up the heart of this urban farm. Kathleen shares her journey of bringing the farm to life amid asphalt and other urban influences in this historically agricultural community.
The Earth got a chance to recover last year during the Pandemic, as evidence of human impact lifted. Wildlife came out, rivers and skies cleared up, CO2 levels dropped. The absence of traffic, crowds, and noise made it easier on our planet's other inhabitants.
