Wordless Wednesday: Summer Memories

Summer is officially over and our mind turns to fall, but let’s celebrate these summer memories while they are still fresh. Here’s some inspiration for your garden plans this month.

The harvest basket was full this month.

Lemon cucumbers were a big success this year
We were thrilled to harvest this pineapple and many spaghetti squashes this season. The pineapple was incredibly sweet!
We don’t end up with enough tomatoes to can, so we buy a flat at the lowest price to can while tomatoes are in season.
We also make batches of homemade Pico di Gallo. Find the recipe here (scroll past the photos for the details).
Basil got a late start for us this year, but we’re making pesto for the freezer.
Watermelons are planted late here at Gardenerd HQ so we haven’t seen fruit yet.
