Wordless Wednesday: Not Back to School Yet!

I always hated Back to School days, and when I start seeing Pee-Chee folders and pencil cases in advertisements, I still get that sense of dread. Luckily we’re adults now, so we can garden instead. Here is some inspiration to erase any dread you may feel this time of year.

Winter luxury pumpkin
Winter Luxury pumpkin grows week after week. We’re excited to grow this type for pies. Using the link helps Gardenerd make a few cents.
sweet corn clothes pin
We clip our sweet corn ears with a clothes pin to keep worms out.
Volunteer watermelon
A volunteer watermelon springs up in our lima bean bed. There’s room for everyone here.
Fish pepper
Our favorite pepper is the Fish pepper. Its flavor eclipses other peppers. And it’s pretty!
Wordless Wednesday Kajari melon
Kajari melons are flowering. We hope they grow to fruition. Fingers crossed.
Wordless Wednesday goji berries
Goji Berries are ripening. Eat them fresh or dried.
Wordless Wednesday Lemon Verbena
Lemon Verbena is ready to harvest for Lemon Verbena Ice Cream
wordless Wednesday red onions
Red onions are ready when the necks flop over. Let them cure in the sun for a few days afterwards.
Wordless Wednesday Pumpkin harvest
Styrian Hulless, Blue Kuri and other pumpkins are ready for winter use.

Let’s stave off the back to school blues just a little longer while we enjoy the harvest (especially all those tomatoes!) for a few more weeks. The garden is the best classroom anyway, right? Grow, learn, eat!
