Field Trip: Wildflower Bakery and Garden – Sebastopol, CA

Last week our friends took us to a sweet spot called Wildflower Bakery during our trip to Sebastopol, CA. At first I thought it was for the sourdough, but then it became clear there was more going on here than bread.

Don’t get me wrong, I was definitely there for the bread – the fougasse is amazing! But what I discovered behind the bakery was pure delight. Here are some images of a tour through their garden.

The Bakery

A quick glance through the service window gives you a look inside.
The menu is full of delicious options

But Onto the Gardens…

The entrance welcomes you with hand-painted art and wind chimes
Nasturtiums, berries, and grapevines climb every available surface in the garden.
Fall flowering cane berries pop into the pathways
Marigolds and brassicas line the edge of a pathway
Amaranth decorates the garden throughout
A sculpture mingles with artichokes and conifers at Wildflower Gardens
The garden is transitioning between summer crops and new cool-season plantings.
Eggplants are still going, while grapevines start to change colors.

If you ever end up in Sebastopol, make Wildflower Bread a stop on your tour. It’s worth it for the bread, the atmosphere, and so much more.
