We moved our plants from containers to our Vego Garden. See how it all started here in Pt. 1 and Pt. 2. We found our pineapple plant took off once transplanted into a raised bed with fresh soil. So if you have the room, and the climate, give it that ideal growing environment.

How to feed your pineapples? We like a balanced organic fruit tree fertilizer. (Pineapple is a fruit, after all). It has the right balance of phosphorus and potassium for flowering and fruiting needed to support growth and production. If you are growing in containers, you’ll need to feed at least monthly, maybe more often during the fruiting time.

That’s right, it’s a real pineapple! Our very first after planting one three years ago. We couldn’t be more excited. It can take 6-months for this fruit to ripen.

Give home pineapple growing a try in your garden. Be patient and have fun with the process.
