The Gardenerd Blog recently received a Liebster Award from friend and Grow BioIntensive educator, Dan Royer-Miller. What’s a Liebster award? It’s basically the equivalent of Follow Friday on Twitter, where you give a plug to your five favorite blogs and bestow them with this logo:

Garden Wise Guy – my friend Billy Goodnick hosts this funny and informative landscaping blog that includes his hilarious posts about Crimes Against Horticulture. Billy has a great sense of humor, a bounty of gardening experience, and plus – he’s in a band. What more could you want?
Pumpkin Mania – if you’re looking to learn how to grow an award winning giant pumpkin, this blog hits the spot. I had the pleasure of attending a PumpkinMania weigh-off one year, but missed it this year. The blog details all the winners, so you don’t feel left out.
Eden Makers – Shirley Bovshow is a force to be reckoned with in the gardening world. She’s a TV host, garden designer, and all around great gal. Her blog offers great ideas for non-edibles and garden design, and she even throws in some veggie gardening into the mix. We need more wonderful women like Shirley in this world.
Dirt du Jour – I get an email gem every morning from these gals, who strive to find interesting garden-related ideas to share. They scour the news for crazy garden happenings (like the guy who accidentally speared himself with pruning shears through the EYE!) They have done book giveaways on Fridays, but every day is interesting.
and finally…
Circle in the Sun – I met Dan and Margo Royer-Miller during my training at Ecology Action, learning John Jeavons’ Grow BioIntensive method of farming. Dan and I have kept in touch, particularly during the time I was building my solar food dryer (which he inspired). I emailed him with questions about metal absorber plate paint and non-standard light fixtures that he graciously answered. He and his wife are living proof the Grow BioIntensive works. They live off the land in Ohio and blog about their adventures in agriculture. Thank you, Dan for the Liebster. This one’s back at ya.
