Wordless Wednesday: March Madness

While it’s true that March Madness is usually associated with sports, we gardenerds know that it really means it’s time to get growing in the garden. Whether starting seeds indoors or enjoying warmer days to plant out, March is all about getting the garden ready to grow. Here’s some inspiration to help you get started.

Indian bush mallow graces us with her presence. This is a volunteer from an old plant that died years ago.
It’s hard to believe the pomegranates are blooming already, but here we are.
The Meyer lemon is sending out new flowers while the older fruits ripen.
The Algerian tangerine (Clementine) is coming to life with a tree full of new leaves and flowers.
The hens have been busy. They started laying in early February..
We just pruned back old growth on this mint, so it’s ready for spring.
The first purple artichoke of the season is showing its face.
Wisteria is showering us with fragrant flowers this month.
Our Cecile Brunner rose is blooming like crazy right now.
Bells of Ireland show up just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.
