Wordless Wednesday – Impatient Gardening

With most of the garden planted, now is a time of impatient gardening. We wait for plants to flower and fruit to set. We tend the garden while we wait for that first ripe berry or first zucchini harvest. Here is some inspiration while you wait (and plant more crops).

Slow Growing – Impatient Gardening

Henderson Bush Lima beans sprout under floating row cover.
Dragon fruit has started to send out flower buds. Hopefully we’ll be around to hand pollinate them when they open.
More tomatoes grow in our crib cages (find out how to make these in High Yield Small Space Organic Gardening).
Comfrey (purple flowers) and milkweed (orange flowers) grow hand in hand. Now we wait for butterflies to arrive.
This new purple artichoke is fruiting this year. We weren’t sure it would produce in its first year, but it’s doing great in the new Vego garden.
Snow Queen nectarines are starting to ripen on the branch. Hopefully we’ll get them before the squirrels do.
The Fuji apple tree has set fruit. We have to wait until fall to enjoy these fruits.
Our new Vego garden is filling in with tomatoes and peppers. They are growing so fast in this bed! Get one for yourself and use our code (GARDENERD10) to get a discount on your order.
Bells of Ireland volunteer in the yard these days. We never know what’s going to show up each year.
This yellow rose blooms against the blue background.

Get out there and garden (with or without patience). It will help keep your spirits up while you wait for the rest of the garden to catch up.
