1. March in the Garden – Spring Fever

Spring fever is an old saying, but it’s real here at Gardenerd. We feel the inextricable pull to the garden — to plant, to tend, to bring new life forward. Do you feel the pull?

Here at Gardenerd HQ, we’re already harvesting artichokes, and the pomegranate and apple trees are blooming. Blackberries are setting fruit, and we’re clearing beds for spring crops. We’ll plant corn seeds, and transplant tomatoes soon. In the harvest basket: kohlrabi, mustard greens, lettuces, strawberries, turnips, carrots, cabbage and kale. We ordered more seeds for basil because you can never have too much basil. Keep an eye on soil temperatures and start planting when the temp matches what your seed packets say. It’s go time!

In this newsletter, you’ll find a pest control tip for aphids, and news about my new cozy mystery novel. Spring fever is one malady I look forward to each year. Let the fever take hold and get growing!

Happy gardening,

Christy
