What’s Inside Creating a Healthy Garden?

Module 1

The Foundation

Right from the beginning we’ll cover the importance of creating an ecosystem that works for you and your garden. Without this, your garden will suffer from pest infestations, lower yields, and overall malaise. I will show you how to build a thriving ecosystem around your garden and explain the connections, both above and below ground, that are crucial for every gardener to understand. Once you know this, you’ll have the foundational knowledge to apply the techniques and strategies discussed in the following modules.

Module 2

Tiny Critters

Next, we’ll dive into your most problematic insect pests. I will show you how to use your ecosystem to combat these pests, reduce their populations naturally, and fortify your garden against their return year after year. I’ll share my step-by-step process on how to identify pests and find their weaknesses so you can reduce problem populations on your edible crops.

Module 3

Bigger Beasts

In this module, we’ll tackle larger critters—wildlife, burrowing animals, and birds. All of these pose a threat to your veggie garden (read: snack bar). I will share my resources for the best options to keep these interlopers out of your garden. You’ll feel empowered to protect your crops from harm with the PDF resource materials available in this module.

Module 4 – Bonus

Deadly Disorders

This bonus module goes a step further to integrate what you’ll learn in the previous 3 to draw the connections between pests and the diseases they can carry. I will walk you through the process to find solutions to problems like bacterial wilt and other diseases that arrive with certain pests. Module 4 is also where you’ll find additional videos and updates over time.

When you enroll during this special limited time period you’ll get:

FAQs

How do I know you’ll talk about the pests I have in my garden?

In this course we’ll cover a lot of commonly found garden insect pests and larger critters. I’ll also teach you the skills and resources needed to identify pests and research more regional pests than what are specifically covered in the course. You’ll feel empowered with the knowledge of where to look for answers, and how to proceed from there.

I hate bugs, I want them gone, all gone! Can you promise that?

I hear you, but it’s important to know that we’re aiming for balance, not eradication. Part of the course focuses on managing expectations and coming to terms with your fears about bugs. While you may still be a little afraid of them when we’re done, you’ll form a different relationship with bugs through the process of this course. I promise, you’ll feel less “ick” and more “ooh” when we’re finished.

I’m fairly new to gardening. Will this course be too advanced for me?

I have a habit of doling out a TON of information when I teach. What I like to say is this: some of it will stick to your brain, some of it will slide off. But the NEXT time you hear it, more will stick. Even if you only walk away with the basic knowledge that I discuss in Module 1, you’ll have enough information to create your healthy garden and implement the rest of the material as you get more experience. Remember, you’ll have lifetime access to this course.

Do I have to complete the course in one week?

Once you buy Creating a Healthy Garden, you’ll have lifetime access. You can buzz through each module in one day or one week or longer, if you need. You can take your time, and revisit each module as you grow through your gardening season. This course will be here for you anytime you need it.

Am I going to have to invest a lot of money in order to implement what I learn from Creating a Healthy Garden?

It depends. Some solutions discussed in the course are relatively inexpensive, others may require an investment. You get to choose which you want—and can afford—to implement. I’ll also talk about a range of solutions, from lower-cost options and DIY, to Pre-fab options for protective barriers for raised beds, fruit trees, etc. I’ll introduce you to pest control options that may involve some equipment to apply, but again, you’ll find a range from low-cost and DIY to higher-price points available. There are always avenues to free and low-cost supplies, such as Freecycle, Craigslist, and Buy Nothing groups online.

If I choose the Independent Study option, do I get any personal attention from you?

The one-on-one session with me and private Facebook group is only available through VIP access. You can always write into Ask Gardenerd with your burning questions, and that will be the customer support email address you can use to contact us if you are having trouble working through the course. You’ll also have access to the bonuses that are available to anyone who signs up for the course.

Still “thinking about it”?

Are you tired of bugs in your broccoli? Have you watched your investment literally disappear before your eyes (I have – that gopher sucked down one of my flower bulbs right in front of me!) It’s beyond frustrating, isn’t it?

Let’s be real. You and I have likely lost hundreds of dollars in fresh produce to pest damage and critter theft. Probably more than the cost of this course, right?

You’re doing your best to grow food for you and your family, not to have it stolen away by wildlife. No one wants to lose hope over heirloom tomatoes. There are options!

I’ve been there. I’ve suffered the failures, tested the products, and done the research for you. With the help provided in Creating a Healthy Garden you’ll be able to spend more time enjoying your garden and less time wondering what went wrong. Together we can grow more food with less disappointment.

“Beyond knowledgeable and a great teacher. She empowered me to take on my garden and grow my own food from seed to table.”

Saving the world, one garden at a time!
